Regulatory Compliance

Scottish energy regulations, explained clearly

Every system we install is compliant with UK national frameworks and Scottish-specific DNO requirements. Here's how that protects you.

MCS Certification

The Microgeneration Certification Scheme is the UK standard for battery installations up to 50 kW. All residential and small commercial projects we deliver are MCS registered, unlocking eligibility for smart export tariffs and meeting lender warranty requirements.

G99 / G100 Grid Connection

We handle the full DNO application process with SP Distribution and SSEN. G99 covers generation above 16 A per phase, while G100 governs export limitation. Our team has submitted over 400 successful Scottish DNO applications.

TrustMark & Consumer Code

TrustMark is the Government-endorsed quality scheme. Our membership means every Scottish customer benefits from independent vetting, insurance-backed guarantees and deposit protection.

Ofgem & BSC Compliance

Commercial BESS assets trading in the Balancing Mechanism require Balancing and Settlement Code accreditation. We partner only with BSC-compliant optimisers and route-to-market specialists.

Scotland-specific considerations

Scotland's energy policy is partly devolved. The Scottish Government's Heat in Buildings Strategy, Energy Strategy and Just Transition Plan all shape the incentive landscape for storage. Home Energy Scotland (HES) offers interest-free loans up to £6,000 for battery storage in qualifying Scottish households - an advantage not available to English homeowners.

On the commercial side, the Scottish Industrial Energy Transformation Fund (SIETF) supports industrial decarbonisation projects, and DNO flexibility tenders operated by SP Energy Networks and SSEN Distribution are explicitly prioritising Scottish constraint-zone assets.

We maintain active registrations with Home Energy Scotland, RECC, HIES and the Scottish Renewables trade body. Our accreditation stack means every engagement is insured, warranty-backed and eligible for all applicable Scottish incentive schemes.
